Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. AerialPin uses a small number of cookies, described below. We don’t use advertising cookies and we don’t sell or share what we measure.

These are off until you say otherwise. A small notice asks whether we may count your visit. Until you press Accept, the analytics script is never loaded and none of the cookies below are set. Closing the notice is not an answer and records nothing, so it appears again next time you open the site — and the site works exactly as it does now for as long as you never accept.
If you accept, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<property>, which tell a returning visitor apart from a new one and hold the state of the current visit. Google’s default lifetime for both is two years.
These are measurement cookies, not advertising ones: we don’t run ads, build advertising audiences, or pass anything to ad networks. Blocking them costs you nothing — every part of AerialPin keeps working. Google’s own handling of this data is governed by Google’s privacy policy, and their browser opt-out add-on turns it off everywhere at once.
Your photos are never part of this. They are read in your browser and never uploaded, so there is nothing about them for analytics to see.
When you subscribe to a plan or make a purchase, our payment provider Stripe may set its own cookies during checkout to process your payment securely and prevent fraud. These are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy, not this one.
You can change your answer at any time: Cookie settings at the bottom of any page reopens the notice, and once analytics is on its button becomes Turn off. Switching it off deletes the cookies it set and reloads the page, so nothing further is sent.
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their own settings. Blocking the analytics cookies changes nothing about how the Service works. The session cookie is different: it is what keeps you signed in, so blocking that one will sign you out and stop you using the Service.
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
