AerialPin (“we”, “us”) provides aerial mapping and annotation tools. This policy explains what information we collect when you use AerialPin, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
In short
Your photos never reach our servers.
Aerial images you add, the pins and boundaries you draw on them, and the finished images you export are all held in your own browser on your own device. We have no copy of them, and there is no image storage in our database to hold one. What we store is your account: who you are, what plan you’re on, and your credit balance.
Photos you add to AerialPin are read and stored by your browser, in its own on-device storage (IndexedDB). That includes the original file, the EXIF data read from it, every pin, label and boundary you draw, and any styled versions you generate. Exports are rendered in your browser too, and saved straight to your device.
This has consequences worth knowing, in both directions:
The AI styling tools are the only feature that sends an image off your device. When you run one, that image is transmitted through our server to Google’s generative AI API, which returns the styled result to your browser. We hold the image in memory only for as long as that request takes — it is never written to our database, and no copy is kept. Google’s handling of the data it receives is governed by its own terms.
Nearby-place search and auto place send the photo’s coordinates, not the photo, to the Google Places API in order to look up what is around it.
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that power AerialPin — Stripe (payments), Google (place lookups, and the AI styling tools described above), and our hosting and database providers — and only to the extent needed for them to provide their service to us, or where required by law.
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed except where we’re required to retain it (for example, financial records for tax purposes). Your images are unaffected by any of this, because we never held them — they are on your device, and they stay there until you remove them.
You can review and update your account information at any time from your account settings, or request deletion of your account entirely. Contact us using the details below for any other request relating to your personal information.
We use cookies for authentication and to keep you signed in. See our Cookie Policy for details.
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
